About Nemo Arts

Team of Nemo Arts based in Glasgow

What we do

Based in Glasgow, Nemo Arts supports adults experiencing poor mental health or social isolation through the arts. Our creative programmes provide a welcoming, non-judgemental space where people can express themselves, build confidence, learn new skills and form meaningful connections with others.

We run three terms each year, with most activities consisting of 14 weekly sessions followed by a showcase or celebration. Participants can attend up to three activities each week, with Choir available in addition to this limit. No previous experience is needed—just a willingness to give something a try.

You can register yourself or be referred by a health, social care or community organisation. However you find us, you’ll receive a warm welcome.

Our Story

Nemo Arts was founded in 1998 by Isabel McCue following the death of her son John, after years of living with schizophrenia. Her family’s experience inspired her to create a place that felt safe, welcoming and human—a space for self-expression, connection and dignity.

Through art, music and community, Nemo Arts continues to support people to build confidence, form connections and pursue recovery in their own way.
