Taiko Drumming
Experience the power and energy of Japanese Taiko Drumming in Glasgow. Taiko combines rhythm, movement and teamwork to create an exciting musical experience that is suitable for all abilities. You don’t need any previous musical experience—just a willingness to have a go. Sessions are active, supportive and a great way to relieve stress, build confidence and be part of something bigger than yourself.

Hi, I’m Hugh and I’ll be your tutor in the Taiko Drumming group. I’ve been teaching taiko for many years and love seeing people discover confidence through drumming. My sessions are welcoming, energetic and designed so everyone can take part, regardless of experience or ability.
Taiko drumming in Glasgow course
Each term runs for 14 weekly sessions, followed by a showcase performance where participants can share what they’ve learned with family, friends and fellow participants. Throughout the term you’ll learn drumming techniques, rhythm patterns, performance skills, teamwork and how to play as part of an ensemble.
Join a group
Joining Nemo Arts is simple. You can register online or ask someone to refer you. Participants can book up to three classes each week during a term. At the end of every term you’ll be invited to register again if you’d like to continue or try something new.
Build your confidence
Whether you’ve never picked up a drumstick before or already have musical experience, there’s always room to grow. As your confidence develops you’ll have opportunities to perform at showcases, festivals and community events.
